OnePlus Nord has been the most anticipated smartphone of 2020. OnePlus has been known for launching the flagship killer smartphones, but with the launch of the latest OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro, they have entered into the flagship club. So, OnePlus Nord is built to keep up with their initial belief for what the company holds.
OnePlus claims that OnePlus Nord is the beginning of their new series in the mid-range section placing their main series on the premium category. OnePlus Nord comes with a lot of features that we have been expecting. Though it has made some disappointments. Some compromises have been made for cutting off the price. For example, OnePlus is not water-resistant.
OnePlus Nord comes with a 90Hz AMOLED display which is very similar to OnePlus 8. It seems that OnePlus made no compromise with the display. It’s a 6.44-inch display with a 20:9 aspect ratio making the phone tall and easy to hold. You’ll have no problem with the display overall, it’s an AMOLED panel. The colors are vivid and accurate.
OnePlus Nord comes with the latest Snapdragon 765G with an integrated 5G modem, flagship camera, dual selfie front-facing camera, warp charger, and many other features that we will discuss in detail.

Specifications of OnePlus Nord
Lets review OnePlus Nord specifications in different sections.
Body
The phone is 6.44 inches long and weighs 184 grams. The phone appears to be tall that makes it convenient to hold.
It has Gorilla Glass 5 at both sides; back and front. And has a plastic frame. It has dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by). OnePlus Nord feels premium to touch and the weight is well balanced.
Display
OnePlus comes with a 6.64-inch display with a 90Hz AMOLED panel. The phone is built to make beautiful and premium. You get the flagship level display within this price range. It has an aspect ratio of 20:9 ratio with a resolution of 1080X2400 pixels.
You have the option to select 60Hz in settings and toggle between two refresh rates whenever you want. This time OnePlus decided to go with a dual punch-hole selfie camera at the front making it look similar to Realme X50.
On a display with these great specifications, it would be a delight to watch movies or stream content. Even playing games with 90Hz will give you better gaming performance.
Performance and Memory
OnePlus Nord features the latest Snapdragon 765G chipset and it is one of the best processors for this price range. The CPU is an octa-core that is clocked at 2.4GHz with Qualcomm AI Engine and Adreno 620 GPU.
The device comes with three RAM and storage options – 64/64GB, 8/128GB, and 12/256GB. The phone can handle pretty much of your multitasking task. OnePlus claims that Snapdragon 765G is built with much more optimization with the Nord to have much better and more smooth performance.
On top of that, OnePlus is ready to handle everything that 5G can offer, even though, 5G is yet to be available on the full scale.
Camera
The phone has a quad-camera setup. It carries the same 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor as the OnePlus 8. There’s an 8MP ultrawide camera, 5MP depth sensor, and 2MP macro lens.
The photo from the main camera turns out to be great but the depth sensor and macro lens are just there for the sake of trend with no better use at all. The main highlight would be the primary 48MP camera having both OIS and EIS. The OIS is a feature that we don’t see in this price segment.
At the front side, we get a dual selfie camera; a 32MP primary Sony IMZ616 sensor with EIS, and 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. You can take some decent selfies.
It supports 30 fps 4K video recording and 30/60 fps 1080P recording.
Sound
With OnePlus Nord you get just the single firing speaker at the bottom of the phone. There’s a Dirac audio tuner that offers some audio enhancement. The loudness is average and the audio quality is nothing special. There is no headphone jack on the phone. And if you need to plug headphone jack you need a USB Type C adapter.

The phone can get fully charged in less than an hour. The overall battery performance is quite good as expected from OnePlus. Even with the 90Hz refresh rate on, you get the battery life that lasts for a day.
Sensors
There’s an in-display fingerprint scanner on Nord that is fast and works very well. All the necessary sensors like accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, etc. are included.
